Set within a 25,000-hacter concession area, Tarangire River Camp is located 3.5km from main entrance of the Tarangire National Park, overlooking a branch of the Tarangire Rive itself.

The twenty-one elegantly furnished safari tents are all equipped with en-suite bathroom and private verandah. Families can benefit further by being accommodated in our Family Safari Room.

Nestled between the Maasai Steppe and The Great Rift Valley, Tarangire features the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti. It is the distinct animal life of the park’s river that serves as the primary attraction.

MAWENINGA TENTED CAMP

Authentic, bush experience

The camp is located in the north-western area of Tarangire National Park and built on top of massive “kopje’’ (granite rocks).

There are amazing views over Lake Burungi and, away to the north, Lake Manyara in rift valley.

On a clear day, the summit of mount Kilimanjaro is visible from the highest point, up among the rocks of this authentic bush camp.

Maweninga Tented Camp has sixteen tents built along the kopje, offering an expensive view over the National park, the lakes and far on horizon, the rounded slopes of the ancient volcanoes of the Ngorongoro Highlands. Elephants can come to feed in the vicinity of the tents.

The whole camp has a distinct “bush feel,’’ remote, with minimal impact bush safe.

All the tents are similarly decorated but retain certain originality, with a terrace, a bedroom and a dressing room alcove with en-suite bathroom: flush toilets, basin and shower (24 hour electricity and hot water)

OLIVER'S CAMP

Oliver’s Camp is situated in the remote South Eastern part of the Tarangire National Park. The camp is close to animal dense Silale Swamps and overlooks a flood plain of the Minyonyo Pools, part of the Tarangire River.

The Safari tents feature a spacious outdoor shower with hot water overlooking the minyonyo floodplains and flush toilet.

The tent comes equipped with a safety deposit box and a seating area; communal meals are enjoyed at the main lodge around the campfire. Activities available at open-vehicle game drives, bird watching, walking safari, fly camping, picnics and stargazing.
